Current Project: New Tank
Out of necessity farmers tend to be very self-sufficient, servicing our own water supply and sewage, amongst many other projects. This project started with the discovery of two problems; our old concrete tank was leaking and our family needed more water. Like all farm projects, we ticked off one job and it just kept rolling, in fact it's still rolling. The 'tank project' is now the 'shed extension project' as after ahem...'moving', the old leaking concrete tank we had the space we needed to extend our shed, always need shed space! The tank project involved bringing in a lot of fill to level the surface as we are on a hill, then preparing the base for the new large green tank, then delivery and installation of the green tank, then digging all the trenches and hooking all the water up. It continues to be a big job, not too much TV watching here. Very rewarding to see progress though and we have learnt to enjoy and celebrate the journey.
